Film Reviews from a
Christian Perspective |
"As a Pastor, I am constantly approached by people who claim to have the latest great thing for my ministry. I would like to tell you about something that actually works. Phil Boatwright offers a service to churches that is an excellent ministry tool, especially for families. His theological approach is thoughtful and reasoned. Phil does not try to tell people what to do, but rather gives them the tools to aid their own choices. My church uses his guide and find it to be first class." Rob

THE TRUTH. The film industry grossed over $8 billion this year. Many in your congregation are attending movies - especially the teens. THE WHOLE TRUTH. THE MOVIE REPORTER is a monthly film guide featuring the synopsis and content (reason for the rating) of new films and videos. This useful tool also suggests Video Alternatives (films with the same theme, but lacking the objectionable material). NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH. MPAA ratings, or a Thumbs Up are not enough to help Christian parents decide if the new releases are suitable for their family's viewing. THE MOVIE REPORTER provides thorough, succinct, and easy to read reviews. Is there any profanity, nudity, violence, sexual situations, controversial political views or Christian bashing? Know Before You Go. THE MOVIE REPORTER does not promote movie going. The guide is merely a tool to inform. Given this data, your staff and congregation can discuss "hot" new movies, without subjecting themselves to the offending material. It can be very beneficial to youth leaders…and for the pastor's sermon notes, as well. Church Subscription price - INTRODUCTORY PRICE - Pay $98.50 for the year. Send your check plus your email address and phone number to: Central Christian Publications, 492 E. 12th Street, Tonganoxie, KS 66086. Or let me know that you wish to subscribe now by emailing me at moviereporter@sbcglobal.net . I will add you to our weekly mailing list and bill you later. With a church subscription, the congregation members need only send their email address and phone number to Phil's email address at: moviereporter@sbcglobal.net. IMPORTANT: Remember to include the name of your church. When their email note comes to me, I add them to the list. I will send them a note, letting them know the subscription has been paid through the church. As I gather their names, I will send a list to the church, letting the person in charge know how many people have subscribed. That way the church can decide if it's worthwhile service for next year. My site should answer any questions you may have about my background, my reason for reviewing films, plus giving you over 1,000 past reviews. Your church members can go to that site for past reviews. And when they sign up, the new reviews will come directly to their email address each Friday. If you have any questions, please call me at 805-495-6854 (mornings are best). If you decide to subscribe, send a check for $98.50 to: Central Christian Publications, 492 E. 12th Street, Tonganoxie, KS 66086 (Include your email address, and I will add you right away). Dear Reader, if the pastor likes this idea, but the cost is not in the church budget, may I suggest you buy the subscription for the congregation. This would be a useful yearlong gift for your fellow members. KNOW BEFORE YOU GO. Critic Phil Boatwright offers film reviews from a Christian perspective. Your subscription to this weekly service is FREE. Send your email address and phone number to Phil's email address at: moviereporter@sbcglobal.net. IMPORTANT: Remember to include the name of your church. Including the name of the church let's Phil know that your subscription has been paid.
